Medication Requests

You will need to be evaluated by a physician before medication can be prescribed. If you are currently taking a regular medicine for a specific condition, you may need laboratory testing before refills can be authorized. Arrangements can be made with the clinic for the appropriate tests.

Osteoporosis Risk Factors

The presence of any of these factors may increase the risk of osteoporosis. However, even if you don't have any of these factors, you may still have osteoporosis. Only a bone density test can provide the information your doctor needs to help make a diagnosis.

  • Age
  • Caucasian or Asian descent
  • Thin or small build
  • Previous bone fracture
  • Hip fracture
  • Family history of osteoporosis
  • Early menopause
  • Smoking
  • Alcohol abuse
  • Inadequate calcium intake
  • Certain medications
  • Inactive lifestyle
  • You are past menopause
